WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE – Psalms 107

What a Mighty God We Server – Psalms 107

God is not only Good…God is mighty.

When God, the great I Am led the children of Israel out of the bondage of Egypt… He led them into the Sinai Desert.God had raised up His servant Moses to lead the 3 (perhaps as many as 6 million) Jews out of Egypt… And now Moses and the 6 million Israelites were in a desert, the Sinai Desert. So now, what was Moses going to do with them?

They had to eat; they had to have water to drink. Feeding 6 million people requires a lot of food… According to the Quartermaster General of the Army…it is reported that… Moses would have to have had 1500 tons of food each day. And to bring that much food each day, it would take two freight trains each at least a mile long.

Besides, you must remember, they were out in the desert. So to cook the food they would have to have firewood. This would take 4000 tons of wood and a few more freight trains each a mile long just for one day. And remember this; they were forty years in transit.

But in addition to food they had to have water… If they only had enough to drink and wash a few dishes, it would take 11,000,000 gallons of water each day and a freight train with tank cars 800 miles long. But then there was another problem, each time they camped at the end of the day a campground 2/3’s the size of the State of Rhode Island was required or some 750 square miles. Incredible.

And then consider this to get across the Red Sea at night, if they went on a narrow path double file the line would be 800 miles long and would require 35 days and nights to get across. So there had to be a space in the Red Sea 3 miles wide. So they could walk 5000 abreast to get across in one night. Our God is a mighty God.
